1/3/2009 - 1/25/2009 Missio Dei. Sounds strange to our ears, doesn't it. It should. It's Latin for the "sending of God." The God of the universe is a sending God, which means that whatever mission there is for our life comes from the very nature of God. God is initiating His mission for this world. He sent His Son, Jesus...but He also sends us. In Missio Dei senior pastor Jim White will be exploring the sending activity of God as it relates to the meaning of our lives and our place in this world through the use of four Latin terms used throughout history to speak of the deepest understandings of God's purpose for our lives: missio Dei (the sending of God), vocare (calling), evangelium (good news), and ecclesia militans (the church militant).
